The Overview team is:

Jonathan Stray - Project lead. Jonathan began his career in computer science, then moved into journalism. From 2000 to 2009 he worked in a research group at Adobe Systems on products such as After Effects and Flash. In 2009 he moved to Hong Kong and worked as a full-time freelance reporter, contributing to Foreign Policy, the New York Times, and China Daily. From 2010 to 2012 he was the Interactive Technology Editor at the Associated Press, overseeing team of developers and producers creating interactive news stories. He has an MSc. in Computer Science from the University of Toronto and a Master of Journalism from the University of Hong Kong.

Jonas Karlsson – Lead developer. Before joining the Overview Project, Jonas Karlsson was a Senior Researcher at the Xerox Research Center Webster in Rochester, NY. His work included applying game design elements to enterprise applications and creating collaboration tools in 3D immersive virtual environments. Jonas has a Ph.D. and MS in Computer Science from the University of Rochester, and a  BS in Computer Science from Stanford University.

We are grateful for the assistance of the following people: Tamara Munzner of the University of British Columbia Department of Computer Science has provided important advice and support to the project as a visualization professional.  Stephen Ingram wrote much of the prototype GUI and designed several critical algorithms, including Glimmer.  Matthew Brehmer has provided support for the evaluation Overview as an information visualisation tool.
